What up teammates? Boy am I missing everyone. I have just been listening to Fleetwood Mac's "Hold Me" all morning on repeat just dreaming of the hugs I used to have in abundance. But alas...it is a beautiful day in the sunny outskirts of Columbus, and I am in good spirits despite the distance between me and those I love. Mostly it is because I am confident that it won't be too long before we are all back together. (As a side note, I also warmed up to Ohio once I found out the state reptile is a Black Racer Snake! I can't wait until I find one!)
As for an update...yes, I am up for a date! hahaha, no seriously - things are going well with school and I am making friends (I had to brush up on my friend making skills but it looks like they are still intact and people don't think I am too wacky). I found a bunch of sweet friends through an organization called Christians in Medicine and Dental Association (or some more sensible interpretation of the acronym CMDA) and they are cool. The whole class is pretty swell and everyone is very encouraging and friendly. We hang out on occasion, but once school started the main activity here is studying. It is basically like a study party 24 hours a day. Sometimes I party alone, sometimes with others; sometimes with food, sometimes with instruments, it is always exciting and instead of getting stressed (which I have resisted for the most part thus far) I am just embracing all of the cool information that I have the opportunity to learn. I will let you know how my studying strategies work after my first exam which is Friday! Wowsers. Well I am about to go party with my cadaver (Flo - as in "Excuse me... Flo?") to learn some more about our beautifully complex bodies, but I wish everyone a beautiful day. I hope everyone is having a blast and enjoying the adventures of life. Call me sometime baby.
love,
Michael
PS. If you are interested in some other trivia about Ohio, hold on to your hats and check out this insane info: The state rock song is "Hang on Sloopy", the state beverage: tomato juice, state motto: "With God all things are possible" (I know, right?!), state stone: Flint (possible name of my first child - well, i mean I hadn't planned it, but it could be). On top of that, according to wikipedia there is a movement to get the state fruit to be the pawpaw!! (Golly thanks, Baloo!)
PPS. I am joining the aforementioned movement.

When I die I want to donate my body to science, but I would be offended if someone named me Flo... mainly because I'm a dude, but seriously.
I think it would be cool to be plastinated too... like in body worlds.
Jess isn't keen to either idea so shhhh! haha
Glad to hear from you Mike!
